on January 3, 2012 - 11:55am

Call for Poster Proposals: FLA Annual Conference, April 18-20, 2012

The FLA Continuing Education committee invites proposals for posters to be exhibited during the FLA Annual Conference in Orlando, FL. To learn more about the conference, please go to the conference page: http://www.flalib.org/conference_2012.php.

We encourage proposals for posters related to the program theme "Florida Libraries- Vibrant and Vital” chosen by current FLA president Gloria Colvin. Posters should illustrate some of the many ways that Florida libraries are “vibrant centers of learning, connecting, and exploring information and ideas” and show how the libraries themselves are vital to addressing the information needs and desires of Floridians. For more information on the conference theme, please visit http://www.flalib.org/president_page.php.

Poster proposals will be accepted from Friday, Nov. 4, 2011 until Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. Each presenter will have access to a poster display board and a table on which handouts and other materials can be placed. Access to electrical outlets is not anticipated, so please plan accordingly.

Please use the following link to read more about the poster sessions and to access the submission form: http://library.ucf.edu/Presentations/FLA2012/PosterSession.php.

  • Develop ideas, offer significant conclusions, and provide useful and practical findings
  • Appeal to and engage the audience, offering opportunities for discussion and interaction
  • Provide a good visual description of the project
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: Wednesday, January 11th 2012, 11:59 p.m.
